Since January 2008, I have been a researcher in the team “Intracellular Membrane Trafficking in Nervous and Neuroendocrine Systems.” My research has always focused on the fundamental molecular mechanisms that control signaling and cellular dynamics.
Specifically, I study small GTP-binding proteins of the Ras and Rho subfamilies and their roles in cytoskeletal rearrangements, signaling, and vesicular trafficking. Recently, my attention has shifted to how plasma membrane lipids and their regulators coordinate vesicular trafficking. In particular, I explore how compensatory endocytosis and vesicular recycling, occurring after the release of hormones and neurotransmitters, are regulated by proteins that modulate lipids at the cell membrane.
Additionally, I have expanded my research to explore the transport of metabolic hormones to the brain.
At the Institute of Cellular and Integrative Neurosciences, I serve as the coordinator of the Technical and Development Committee, a member of the Information Technology Committee, and a participant in the Laboratory Council.
